As flesh yields to time, one can linger in quiet accord with the passing hours. We lurch forward with a mournful knowledge: a day will come when music still ignites the spirit, but our body can no longer answer its call. Death stalks us patiently, eager to flatten our pulse in spite of the rhythm. We must relish kinships conjured in gloom among swaying bodies together beneath somber lights and mist.

Though we find poetry in death, others find fury, exemplified in Generation of Vipers, Palaces, and Coward God: witness their seething rites in an early show before the Funeral Party convenes and the dance floor becomes our sanctum once more.
