Ott has been messing about with sound boxes every day for as long as he can remember. Having spent the ‘90s flitting between his day-job as a freelance studio engineer and long weekends under the stars at psychedelic trance parties, the obvious next step, as the millennium turned, was to create music of his own from the jumble of sounds which filled his head.
About every four years or so an album coalesces from the chaos, heads out into the world and takes on a life of its own.
MFINITY
Originating in the valleys of Ohio, Mfinity crafts immersive soundscapes built on velvety basslines, organic textures, and deep emotion. His music moves fluidly between the natural and the digital, where field recordings, crisp percussion, and melancholic melodies meet modern sound design and hip-hop influence.
Before finding his voice in electronic music, Mfinity’s foundation was rudimental percussion. He spent years performing and teaching high school drumlines across the nation, eventually joining the United States Marine Corps Drumline, which shaped his musical approach even further. That experience paved the way for his studies at Berklee College of Music, where he earned a degree in Electronic Production and Sound Design, refining his ability to turn feeling into frequency.
Today, Mfinity not only produces and performs but also mentors up and coming artists through private lessons, helping them find their own voice in the evolving world of bass music. Over the last few years, he’s quietly established himself as a pathfinder, gaining support from renowned artists such as CloZee, Eazybaked, and Supertask, while cultivating a loyal audience drawn to the depth and honesty in his sound.
