Established in 1946, Chief Joseph Days Rodeo was created as a way to unite the community and honor the spirit of Western heritage.
What began as a local gathering has evolved into one of the Northwest’s most respected PRCA rodeos — earning recognition as a Top 5 PRCA Medium Rodeo nationwide and receiving the Columbia River Circuit Medium Rodeo of the Year award five times.
Named for Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce Tribe, the rodeo proudly reflects and celebrates the culture, legacy, and natural beauty of the Wallowa Valley.
Today, Chief Joseph Days is organized by a passionate all-volunteer committee and supported by local families, generous sponsors, and dedicated community members who help carry this tradition forward.
