The wait is over! Cedar County Cobras are ready to release their second studio album titled "Sinners & Saints" at an intimate record release party hosted this September at xBk in Des Moines. Guitarist Tom Spielbauer of the Cedar County Cobras has become a fixture of the Iowa Blues Scene after traveling to Memphis as the winner of the solo/duo category of the CIBS Blues Challenge in 2022 & he won again in 2024 with his musical partner April Dirks on the upright bass. Together, this duo has recently been signed by record label Overton Music of Blind Racoon Records out of Memphis, and the newest album was recorded right here in Des Moines at Golden Bear Records!! Tom & April cannot wait for you all to hear this album with the following musical guests... Heath Alan on saxophone, Tanner Taylor on keys, Bryan Vanderpool on drums, Dave Moore on harmonica, and even special Des Moines area backup singers Monica Faye & Krista Guillaume on the gospel tunes. We are hoping to feature some of these guests at the record release show as well. The new album is just as rootsy and full of the raw "gravel road" sound of the Cobras that folks have come to love. With the support of CIBS and the greater Des Moines musical community, the Cobras are thrilled to celebrate this new record with all of you.
