Grex (album release), Naytronix, Feefawfum
8:00pm, $12 adv., $15 door
Oakland experimental/art rock band Grex releases their new album "Auntie + Tebs" at the Stork Club, joined by alternate pop polymath Naytronix and post-punk powerhouse Feefawfum. "Auntie + Tebs," Grex's first record in six years, showcases a wildly original approach to songcraft that nods to free jazz, alternative hip-hop, and the outer reaches of noise rock. These sounds tell a personal story about revolution and resilience. Proceeds from this record will support social causes.
Grex has been called an "otherworldly experience" (Eugene Weekly) and "true genre warping music" (KFJC), recalling at turns the ecstatic energy of Milford Graves, the electronic squall of Death Grips, and the lilting songwriting of Mitski and Water From Your Eyes. They've worked with the likes of Fred Frith, Andrew Cyrille, Zoh Amba, Bobby Bradford, and members of Irreversible Entanglements, Dirty Projectors, and King Crimson.

Feefawfum
"Urgent, nerve-jangling blasts of off-kilter noise. Razor-wire riffs and crunching choruses and a pulsating rhythm sections. Feefawfum whip up immediate maelstroms of noise that are designed for anything from pummelling headphone listens and road trips to a mid-afternoon set at a summer festival.” - Sun 13
