ABOUT HOT SUMMER NIGHTS:
Founded in 2017 as the RRCD’s first official district-wide event, Hot Summer Nights was originally created in an effort to provide additional revenue to district members, as well as local musicians and staff during the traditionally slower summer months. The for-locals-by-locals music festival will once again be home to hundreds of free performances featuring local Austin and Central Texas artists with a mix of both established touring acts and up-and-coming musicians. Although each event is free to attendees, all festival performances are paid opportunities for artists, curated in cooperation with each venue, and supported through corporate sponsors and individual donors.
ABOUT US:
The Red River Cultural District is a global music tourism destination at the heart of downtown Austin, offering authentic live music, food, and drink experiences. Managed by the Red River Merchants Association, our alliance includes over 40+ local small businesses, from live music venues and bars to historic landmarks like the First Baptist Church, German-Texan Heritage Society, and Waterloo Greenway.
Founded as a grassroots music community, we officially became a nonprofit in 2016 to fight for the future of Austin’s DIY arts and music scene. We believe music is the soul of this city—and with your help, we’ll keep it beating for generations to come.
By signing up for this event, you acknowledge that your email address will be added to the Red River Cultural District regular newsletter.
