The Yellow Chair Project is an event that will showcase real-life stories told by a diverse group with ties to the Des Moines community. Storytelling is so powerful in how it can connect us with each other and ourselves. We hope you can come either as a storyteller or as an audience member. You do not need to share in order to attend. After all, stories are best when they can be heard.
The theme for our second Des Moines event will be Close Call. Have you ever narrowly missed out on something, only to realize later how much of an impact that had on you? Have you ever almost been in a situation that could have fundamentally altered the course of your life?
If you are interested in sharing a story, please reach out to Tori Luthringer at tluthringer@gmail.com to share a draft. All storytellers will have a chance to have their stories workshopped ahead of time through written and verbal feedback. Submissions will be accepted until the first week of May.
Doors will open at 6 pm for anyone who would also like to peruse the beautiful shelves of the neighboring Nos Books, which will remain open throughout the duration of our event.
We hope to see you there!
