Waterfall is a group of long time friends and collaborators. Their new album on Passion Records “The Waterfall and the Bridge" is the first by this exact configuration, but the five members - Kenwood Dennard (drums), Wes Wirth (bass), Rob Flax (violin), Aliel (voice) and Chris Florio (guitar) have recorded, performed and toured extensively in different configurations.
Kenwood, Wes and Chris have been performing together for more than 15 years, they performed at the Cutting Room this past in March. Together they have recorded seven albums on Passion Records, four of them with Rob Flax.
Kenwood and Wes are touring regularly with Stanley Jordan as the Stanley Jordon trio and with his "Stanley plays Jimi” tours. The quartet of Stanley Jordon, Kenwood, Wes, and Chris recorded a funk album last year for the KMA label.
Kenwood Dennard is a legendary drummer who has performed, recorded and toured with artists including Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Sting, George Clinton, Brand X, Pat Martino and Maceo Parker.
Wes Wirth has performed with Chuck Mangione, King Sunny Ade, George Russell and Vernon Reid.
Chris Florio is the co-director of The Orchestra on the Hill and has released a dozen albums of his own compositions on Passion Records.
Rob Flax has just completed a European tour of his own music and a west coast tour earlier this year. He has also performed and toured with the Trans Siberian Orchestra, Jacob Collier, Billy Wilder and his own Boom Chick Trio.
Aliel is a new discovery for the group whose voice and improvisation skills fit perfectly into their unique style of collaboration.
