Matthew Muñeses is a saxophonist and educator residing in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. He has led and performed in ensembles at a number of historic venues/events across the country, including the Green Mill and Andy's Jazz Club in Chicago, Catalina Bar & Grill in Los Angeles, the Hyde Park Jazz Festival, and the Chicago Jazz Festival. In addition to his work as a performer, Matthew is passionate about educating future generations of musicians, and his students have received awards from the prestigious Young Arts Organization, and have successfully auditioned at colleges including the Manhattan School of Music and New England Conservatory. His albums Noli Me Tángere and Pag-ibig ko, Vol. 1 have been met with recognition in publications such as Downbeat, Paris Move (FR), and Morning Star (UK).
Chicago-based saxophonist and composer Arman Sangalang has been garnering attention as one of the up-and-coming jazz musicians on the scene. Sangalang’s intricate originals weave together lyricism and colorful textures to deliver atmospheric soundscapes. Drawing inspiration from Chicago’s genre-bending creative music scene, his music ranges from contemplative to groove-oriented. His current project, the Arman Sangalang Quartet, brings freewheeling and fiery improvisations to audiences. His debut record Quartet (2023, Calligram Records) was awarded Best First Release as Leader by RadioRadioX. Sangalang is set to release his sophomore album Waypoints on Calligram Records in August 2026.
