Before digicore had a name, midwxst was already making it. He builds songs from the inside out: beats, melodies, and lyrics—all traced back to a teenager learning FL Studio in his bedroom, just outside Indianapolis. By 2021, that bedroom production was reshaping the internet. Tracks like "Trying" and "Care" weren't just singles, they were blueprints. Midwxst and a small group of friends, scattered across Discord servers and Minecraft worlds, were quietly inventing a genre that would come to be known as digicore.
Raised by a military father and a mother whose career kept the family moving, midwxst learned early how to adapt — shifting schools, rebuilding friend groups, and carrying the quiet outsider energy that comes from constant reinvention. His first true community formed online, inside Discord servers and late‑night gaming sessions shaped by the sounds of 100 Gecs and San Holo. When the COVID lockdown hit, that digital ecosystem transformed into a new way of making music, it was collaborative, chaotic, and completely native to the internet.
That foundation led to his breakthrough debut album, E3, which expanded the bedroom blueprint into something cinematic and ambitious. Featuring gospel choirs, live strings, saxophones, and drums, the album explored mental health, identity, family, and transformation with a depth that set midwxst apart. The debut project marked his transition from underground innovator to an emerging force, earning festival appearances at the likes of Outside Lands, Lollapalooza, Rolling Louds, Reading and Leeds, sync placements with Showtime, fashion campaigns with Lacoste and Converse, and editorial features in Complex and Billboard that turned a Discord kid into a name known in rooms he never imagined.
Now with over 450 million global streams and 700K+ Spotify followers, midwxst isn't chasing momentum, he's reclaiming his intention. His upcoming album SOLITUDE IN SILENCE returns to the raw, emotionally honest sound that defined digicore's early days, but with the clarity and confidence of an artist fully in control of his voice. "I haven't been this excited to make music for a long time," he says. "It finally feels like the right moment for the world to hear it. " Still rooted in the digital culture that shaped him, midwxst isn't following a playbook. He's the one who wrote it.
