Doors 6 PM | Mark Edgar Stuart 7 PM | Willis Alan Ramsey 8:30 PM
One of Texas' most influential songwriters is coming to Hernando's Hide-A-Way, joined by special guest and longtime Memphis musician Mark Edgar Stuart.
More than 50 years after the release of his legendary self-titled debut on Leon Russell's Shelter Records, Willis Alan Ramsey has returned to the stage for a rare run of live performances. His 1972 album has inspired generations of artists, with songs recorded by Jimmy Buffett, Waylon Jennings, Jerry Jeff Walker, Shawn Colvin, Captain & Tennille, New Grass Revival, and many more.
Though he has toured only occasionally over the years, Ramsey's songwriting has remained deeply respected by musicians and critics alike. Admirers including Lyle Lovett, Jimmy Buffett, and Shawn Colvin have credited his work as a lasting influence on their own music.
Opening the evening is Memphis singer-songwriter Mark Edgar Stuart, a longtime fixture in the city's music scene known for his work as a producer, sideman and solo artist. Originally from Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Stuart blends humor, heartache and honest storytelling, drawing inspiration from artists like John Prine, Roger Miller and Levon Helm.
His latest album, Never Far Behind, produced alongside Will Sexton, showcases his distinctive mix of soulful ballads and folk-rock, further cementing his reputation as one of Memphis' most respected songwriters.
Don't miss this rare opportunity to experience two exceptional songwriters in the intimate setting of Hernando's Hide-A-Way.
